Wonderlust - Apple Event for launch of iPhone 15, Watch Series 9, Watch Ultra 2 is confirmed
Apple has sent out invitations to their next event. This year scheduled for September 12 which will take place at Apple Park starting at 10 AM PT (10.30 PM IST). The launch will be live streamed online on apple.com and the Apple TV app. For over a decade, the highlight of the September event every year has been the fall product launch of the next iPhone, During which the company plans to unveil its latest iPhone 15 series, accompanied by the new Apple Watch Series 9 and the Apple Watch Ultra 2.
What to expect in Apple's Wonderlust Event Launch:
iPhone 15,iPhone 15 Plus,iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max and/or iPhone 15 Ultra
The iPhone 15 is expected to be the biggest upgrade to the iPhone lineup in years.
Rumors suggest that Apple will introduce four new models, including two Pro models and two non-Pro models.
The Pro models are expected to feature a new design with a pill-shaped cutout for the front-facing camera and Face ID sensors, while the non-Pro models are expected to have a more traditional design with a notch.The cameras on the rear may also get a boost, in the form of a 48-megapixel wide-angle sensor and lens combo.
All four models are expected to be powered by the new A16 Bionic chip and have improved cameras.Display technologies like ProMotion and Always-On are expected to stay a Pro-tier benefit.
The mute switch may not be included in the Pro models anymore, with numerous rumors claiming that a new "Action Button" will be used instead. This multi-function button could be used in many configurable ways, including acting like a traditional camera shutter button.The switch to USB-C, as well as battery capacity bumps, have also been rumored.
Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra
The Apple Watch Series 9 is also expected to be a major upgrade over the previous generation. Rumors suggest that Apple will introduce a new design with a larger display, as well as new health features like a blood pressure monitor and a body temperature sensor.
The Series 9 is expected to be offered in 41mm and 45mm size options.
An updated Apple Watch Ultra is also thought to be on the Apple Watch roster, but there's not much else to expect other than the chip upgrade at this stage.
iPad, iPad Pro, and iPad mini
Apple is also expected to introduce new iPads at its Wonderlust event. Rumors suggest that Apple will introduce a new iPad mini with a smaller bezel and a USB-C port, as well as a new iPad Air with an updated design and a faster processor.
MacBook Air and Mac Mini
Apple is also rumored to be working on new Macs that could be announced at its Wonderlust event. These could include a new MacBook Air with a redesigned chassis and an M2 chip, as well as a new Mac mini with an M2 chip and a more powerful GPU.
Apple tends to make the 13-inch MacBook Pro, the 13-inch MacBook Air, and the Mac mini the first models to ship in a chip generation, and they are still good candidates this time around.
The 24-inch iMac is also awaiting an upgrade, missing out on the M2 generation, though there's less of a chance of an M3 15-inch MacBook Air since the M2 hasn't been around that long.
Apple Vision Pro
With the WWDC introduction and ahead of an early 2024 release, there's a good chance that some form of update will be offered by Apple.
Of course, these are just rumors, and we won't know for sure what Apple has in store until the Wonderlust event on September 12. But based on what we've heard so far, it's shaping up to be a major event with a lot of exciting new products.
In addition to the new products, Apple is also expected to make some software announcements at its Wonderlust event. These could include new features for iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS 13, and watchOS 9.
